Welcome To Our House
Simon House’s Emergency Shelter facility, located at 208 West Campbell Street, has seven units to house homeless women, age 18 and over, who are pregnant and/or have children. Families come primarily from Franklin and surrounding counties. Besides providing shelter, Simon House encourages clients to develop personal and family stability by giving them specific strategies and resources designed to meet their situation. Its purpose is to enable mothers in crisis to become whole, self-sufficient, and able to obtain permanent housing and work toward sufficient income. We provide clients with essential items while they are at the shelter including hygiene, infant care, food, clothing, and cleaning supplies.
Simon House has opened a temporary shelter at Days Inn that now serves homeless men and women. A New Emergency Shelter for adults at 231 E. Main Street (in the old Health Department building) will have a grand opening in the Fall of 2021. It will serve both homeless men and women and will provide the same services that we currently provide in our original shelter.
Low-income families in the community who face economic challenges may request assistance to avert homelessness. Through Simon House’s Community Services, clients are provided essential items such as food, clothing, diapers and other baby needs, cleaning supplies, and personal care products. Case managers can offer assistance and referrals for other services clients may need.
